What do you think of DeepSeek?

Apparently they’re being cyber attacked. 

I used to use many AI until I realized the difference between them isnt big enough to justify using them all.

Basically, for AI research, I now only use google AI Gemini and Bing AI. I think two are enough for decent research.

Now, there are also AI girlfriends, but it becomes obvious very quickly that they are not human.

I havent heard of DeepSeek, but I dont have great confidence in Chinese technology. I mean, their TikTok was made specifically to dumb down masses. Their habit of eating bats and other animals who carry viruses gave us covid.

When I hear that some smartphone is made in China, that is usually a reason enough not to buy it.

It is creating ripples in the Tech Industry that invested heavily in AI. Their stocks are down.

The smartest people I know are Chinese.

Deep seek may answer some questions the other ones don't but it's pozzed, just in a Chinese way. Just ask it for one criticism of China, it won't answer but ask it to criticize any western country and all of a sudden it's okay. Mention the Uyghurs and see what it says.

But it is still somehow worse than American AI.

I would say that it's okay to use to get a more well rounded opinion but it shouldn't be your main tool

One interpretation I heard of the alleged cyberattack is that they cannot handle the new, high demand for their product. Perhaps more of the “overpromising” I have come to expect from China.

I bought into yesterday’s correction in some of the affected US equities. DeepSeek’s model is definitely progress in AI, which is part of the overall AI revolution. Sort of like the cotton gin, this advancement will increase the demand for AI rather than threaten the demand, as so many investors seemed to think on Monday. It remains to be seen how legitimately cheap DeepSeek is. Seeing as how they used certain “export friendly” NVIDIA chips, it might cause a rethink of how the US regulates semiconductor tech.

If you believe what DeepSeek is saying, once again the Chinese have done it better and cheaper...of course, once Trump tariffs the shit out of it, it will only be better.

I came from the high-tech world where the Chinese have always ignored patents and reverse engineered products better and cheaper, they have so many back doors into our networks, I'm sure they started out steeling the best US AI and juiced it up, In high tech the biggest expense item is R&D, you can always beat price if you steal the R&D.

This is capitalism without regulations. China.

With so many variable tests, who knows how accurately a person's "intelligence" is tested/rated. I don't see how you say, categorically, that China ranks highest, orally other country, because that may only depend on their assessment, but who says anyone's test[s] are any better than anyone else's? In the US, we have at least 5 separate tests, all which result in different values, but all are considered "official." 

The chinese is cheater by nature so we've got to be careful with this chinese AI. It looks good but we don't know exactly how they come up with it. They claim it's a low cost AI but we can't trust in what they say.

To me this is a move orchestrated along with the Chinese Comunist Party in order to wreck Trump's announcement about Stargate. Remember that all the chinese companies are at the service of the Chinese government.

Whatever it is, we've got to see it as something necessary because it can burst the bubble created by some American tech companies that only want more money. It's always the same story.
