Essentially branding them as state actors that need to be protected from the law.

Hail Hydra.

To me that's a confession. We already had information that Liz Cheney requested certain people lie under oath to protect her deep state interests.

If Fauci and Cheney did nothing wrong and if the Democrats are correct that the legal system is completely unbiased and never politically motivated as they claimed when Trump was under fire, than these pardons only make sense if Fauci and Cheney committed actual crimes.

Are pre-emptive pardons even constitutional?

It feels fishy and like something out of a banana republic to hand out lifetime get-out-of-jail-free cards to your pals, like a game of Monopoly

They don’t need protection from the law but from what will surely be Trump’s weaponized, vindictive DOJ operating under Trump’s orders with total immunity.

It's a bad precedent to set but we know the Trump administration is going to do the same thing if they sense a repeat of the bullshit that occurred between 2021-2025

So Biden might feel like it's a precedent being broken anyway, he might as well take advantage. However they have been repeating that the courts are never politically motivated since 2020, so to me this sounds almost like a confession. If I was Liz Cheney and as honorable as she claims to be, I would publicly be pissed about the pardon, because if she is being honest, taking her to court just helps her case be proven about Trump.

Doesn't it contradict their story though that the DOJ is never politically motivated and Trump's prosecution and those surrounding him, was fair?

Or is this a case of the DOJ is a weapon under Trump but if you are a neocon or neoliberal than it is completely fair always and completely without bias?

I get the reasoning, but if the Justice system is broken under Trump like they say, then everyone should be immune from courts, not just a few lucky people.

Also, in 4 years when it wont be "Trump's law" and magically the justice system starts functioning again as they also would claim, why wouldn't you just give them a 4 year preemptive  pardon instead of a lifetime immunity from the law, Trump or otherwise?

Something doesn't seem right about this. Or maybe this is perfectly fine. I can't decide!

True. Fast forward to 2028 prior to Trump’s departure from office, Trump can do the same exact thing with the precedent set today.

Here’s the neat thing though: pardonees can no longer claim the 5th, so they can still be investigated and cross examined, just not charged.

That's OK, Trump was never charged with the crime of insurrection or a specific felony regarding his QuickBooks misdemeanor as well.

Biden just now granted immunity to his family members. A real Al Capone.
