Dandelion juice - simple solution for advanced problem

Always make sure to identify dandelion properly and make sure its clean and not toxic or dangerous.

Now some information about monkeys. Monkeys in nature usually eat several pounds of leaves per day. The fiber and leaves in their stomachs ferment and get digested, giving them energy.

Humans have moved away from that stage, but also lost ability to eat so much leaves in one day.

One human could at best eat 100 grams of edible leaves before becoming too tired, because 100 grams of leaves is lots of leaves because they are very light.

However, there are 3 ways to get nutrients from dandelion leaves, some very simple:

1. Blender

Simply put dandelion leaves in blender and make dandelion juice. It is much easier to drink juice than chew hundreds of leaves. This simple method converts dandelion leaves into easy to consume energy.

2. Mortar and pestle (tools used historically)

Lets say that for some reason you dont have a blender. This is more difficult with weaker result, but it can work.
Simply put dandelion leaves in a cup and crush them so nutrients are extracted. Then add some water, but only a little bit of water, then keep crushing dandelion leaves and they will extract nutrients into water. This is obviously much more demanding than simply using blender, so I cant really imagine prefering this method.

3. Soaking in water

The final method is putting dandelion leaves in bottle of clean water and closing it. Leaving such bottle for about 8 hours will cause some nutrients to extract from leaves to water. However, this method is much less effective than previous two. Even if you cut leaves in small pieces before adding them to water, its still less effective than simply using blender. This method is also the slowest, and would result in juice which is far less concentrated than in previous two methods. Kinda like infused water, just instead of fruit, you use dandelion leaves, but same work applies.

Thus, one could say blender method is best, quickest, and yields juice with more nutrition in it.

Although, just some more information:

Dandelion juice is terribly bitter. Its nothing like juice made from fruit. So if anyone is after good taste, walk away lol

Also, about blending...

The best way is probably to blend 500 grams of dandelion with 500 milliliters of added water. This way, you get about 1 liter of juice which has about 225 calories.

100 grams of dandelion has about 45 calories. 
500 grams of dandelions would have about 225 calories, which is about exactly how much juice would contain, since juice is made from 500 grams of dandelions (225 calories) and 500 milliliters of water (no calories).

However, the actual calories might be even higher due to fiber.

So it is a good energy drink.
