..." This system, the researchers found, enabled the Babylonians to create a trigonometric table that is more accurate than the Greek method, as it avoids irrational numbers and provides exact ratios.

Key points about this discovery include:

1. Plimpton 322 predates Greek mathematicians such as Hipparchus, who is often credited with founding trigonometry, by more than a millennium.

2. The Babylonians' use of a base 60 number system allowed them to make complex calculations with great precision. Their method is particularly advantageous for some practical applications, such as surveying and architecture.

3. The tablet shows that the Babylonians had a sophisticated understanding of right-angled triangles and could solve problems related to their sides with exceptional accuracy.

4. This finding suggests that the history of mathematics is richer and more complex than previously thought, with advanced mathematical practices emerging in different cultures independently.

The discovery of the true purpose of Plimpton 322 has reshaped our understanding of ancient mathematical knowledge and highlights the advanced capabilities of Babylonian scholars long before similar concepts were documented in Greek mathematics.".. "

I never cared much for math. I sucked at it. Yet not when it comes to economical math or programming.

Not sure why I was great at some subjects while failing miserably at others, when they were all based on similar logic.

I guess brain is either not interested either part of brain meant for math simply died.

Although I did invent a revolutionary method for solving equations with unknowns by computer guessing each number in each unknown until it fits the equation.

Computer scientists already figured this out 75 years ago but thanks for the new information I guess

It was revolutionary for me, I meant. It made all equation solving methods obsolete and a waste of time.

Your welcome. Two points of interest:

1} for Bucky Fuller Synergetics enthusiasts because, rational number conclusions ---see 902.33 below--   was important to Fuller ergo,
...' Babylonians to create a trigonometric table that is more accurate than the Greek method, as it avoids irrational numbers and provides exact ratios.'...

2} why base 60 is significant, and again I think Fuller makes this obvious in regards to the, primary, 5-fold icosahedrons

60 negative and 60 positive triangles, that subdivide the icosahedrons surface 20 regular/symmetrical triangular openings, that, any one of which, is the basis for the most geodesic domes.

901.16..."
__required the least energetic, vectorial, structuralinvestment per volume ofenclosed local Universe, that led to the developmentof the Basic Disequilibrium 120 LCDSpherical Triangle and its multi frequenced triangularsubdivisioning as the basis forcalculating all high frequency, triangulated, sphericalstructures and structural subportionsof spheres; for within only one disequilibrious LCDtriangle were to be found all thespherical chord-factor constants for any desired radiusof omnisubtriangulated sphericalstructure. "..

902.33 ..."  The 6 degrees of spherical excess is a beautiful whole,rational numberexcess. The 90-degree and 60-degree corners seem toforce all the excess into one corner,which is not the way spherical triangles subside. Allthe angles lose excess in proportion totheir interfunctional values. This particular conditionmeans that the 90 degrees wouldshrink and the 60 degrees would shrink. I convertedall the three corners into seconds andbegan a proportional decrease study, and it was therethat I began to encounter a ratio thatseemed rational and had the number 31 in one corner.This seemed valid as all theconditions were adding up to 180 degrees or 90 degreesas rational wholes even in bothspherical and planar conditions despite certain complementarytransformations. This led tothe intuitive identification of the Basic Disequilibrium120 LCD Triangle's foldability (andits fall-in-ability into its own tetra-void) with theA Quanta Module, as discussed in Sec. 910 which follows. "...

These two explain how the Babylonian exact ratio method is total differrent way of framing trigonometry us from Greek angles.

Ratios { Babylonian } vs Angles { Greek }

Rectangles { Babylonian } vs Circles { Greek }

Start at time 13:22 to get the overall and specific Babylonian rational numbers vs Greeks irrational numbers at 14: 45 or so.

The icosahedron has 3 bisecting rectangles the define the 12 vertexes of icosahedron ergo the 20 regular surface triangular openings.

These two explain how the Babylonian exact ratio method is total differrent way of framing trigonometry us from Greek angles.

Ratios { Babylonian } vs Angles { Greek }...B Fuller method also

Rectangles { Babylonian } vs Circles { Greek }.....Bucky was anti-Pi { 3.14 } since it was not rational i.e. never resolves itself.

2p * {30} = 60

3p * {20} = 60

{5p} * 12 = 60

60 / 7p = 8.57 14 28 57 14 28 5

60/11p = 5.4545454545454545454

60/13p =  4.6153846153846153846153
