What are your thoughts on this?

I don't understand why if an animal is in pain, it is of moral obligation to kill it. But if a person is dying and in pain, you must make them suffer the rest of their life.

I think in most cases it should be legal. That is with be try strict regulations on the companies that do it, but if it’s done correctly it should be legal.

Assisted suicide is a contradiction in terms.

And not the same as the social provision to end a life.

The interesting question that arises here, is how does the social provision to end a life of suffering, sit with the anti-abortionists amongst us.

Christian brainwash victim.

People think: "I need to kill animal so its not in great pain, thats better for it."

But also: "Let humans in great pain live, thats better for them".

Good luck making sense out of that one.

I am not promoting it, but mass suicide is most beneficial for environment.

It's not really the case that "you must make them suffer the rest of their life", they can commit suicide, the problem becomes why do they need you to assist, if they are unable to take a bottle of pills because of how sick they are, then they may be too sick to decide you should do it for them.  in a lot of pain people can say things like "I want to die" and not mean it.  I think the laws around assisted suicide allow for a lot of different aspects to be considered on a specific situation.

I think you necessarily have to be very careful around the idea that "I killed him, but it's OK because he wanted me to", which can be an aspect of assisted suicide.

Animals non humans and humans have different values for different folks. Some are more content with killing people than animals non humans.

Some are against harming their pet but for consuming pets of others.

Society is liberal, no secret.
