While this is such a niche bit of the net, it is also unique in the value proposition.
There's several of us on the various discords, usually very low activity levels, but a nice place to stop in now and again.
I know a lot of banned members are on DebateIsland.com
They're basically a really nice comment section for a debate, minus the debate.
Due to their mass spam, and deceptive practices (they promise the moon but don't even know what to sky looks like), I will not be caught dead there.
Reddit doesn't feel like it has the options to host formal web debates. To my understanding, it's just a forum, which would suit most members but not the debaters.
I'm inspired and anti-inspired by EDeb8.com, as it is meant to be the perfect platform, but I suppose in processing power couldn't do it? Plus they're great at coding, I'm an amateur, if I tried to build a formal debate site it would fall well short of their offerings and I would not know how to fix whatever glitches creep up if it even got that far.
I do have one idea cooking in my brain, but it'd be very different to say the least, and I doubt it could foster any community like this. However, it might serve as methamphetamines to the heroine that is formal web debating.
I'll add that with advancing technology, I do not see a future in formal web debating as we knew it.
