Middle School Mafia Endgame

So clearly my Mod skills still need a bit of work, but at least I'm improving. This was definitely better than BOTW, or god forbid, Lord of the Rings. Even though town won, I think this was a scum sided game. The Mafia just got really unlucky with that randomizer hit on Joebob, otherwise they could have won pretty easily. Kudos to Whiteflame for surviving much longer than I thought possible in that scenario.

Anyways, I hope you all had at least some fun. Scum deserved to win, but I guess that's how the Randomizer role works anyways.

AustinL0926 - You are the Overly Friendly kid. This kid talks so much and seems like they want to be friends with everyone, even if that person hates them. It can get very annoying at times. Thus, you are the Friendly Neighbor. Each NP you can choose a player and they will get a message Mod Confirming you as Town. You win with the Town.

WyIted - You are the Quiet Kid! Normally, you just sit in the back of the class and say nothing to nobody. Recently there have been a lot of memes on the internet that make the joke that this kid is a school shooter in disguise, so you are a 1x Vigilante. You win with the Town.

Ilikepie5 - You are the Class President. I'll be honest, there isn't much of a stereotype for this kind of middle schooler, I was just running out of Ideas. I thought about making you a king but thought that might be a bit too much, so you are the Governor. Once per game, at the end of a DP, or anytime throughout it, you may PM me and use your ability. If you do so, the Lynch and the end of the DP will be changed to a No-Lynch. You win with the Town.

Barney - You are the Snitch! This middle school stereotype is famous for telling the teacher when anyone breaks the rules, even when it is none of their business. You are also one of the most nosy kids in the whole school, so you are a new role I created called "The Snitch", (shocking, I know). You are a 1x affiliation cop, but your results, and the role/character/and night actions of your target will also be shared with the Mafia. You win with the town.

Casey_Risk - You are the Nerd! This middle school stereotype is famous for being very smart, and also sometimes very annoying. You constantly but in on other people's conversations to correct them with your famous catchphrase, "Well Actually...". Many people dislike you because of this, and so you are the Miller. You win with the town.

CatholicApologetics - You are the Class Bully. You are the biggest kid in the class and thus can use your force to get the other kids to do what you want. As a result of this, all the other kids are afraid of you, and won't go near you. Thus, you are a Paranoid Gun Owner, minus the mafia. If anybody tries to visit you throughout the night, they will be killed, unless they are the Mafia. You win with the Town.

Owen_T - You are the Popular kid! You hold much sway over all the other kids in your school. If anyone wants to be cool, they have to copy you or be your friend, so you have lots of power. Thus, you are the Vote Thief. During the DP, you can influence somebody else with your popularity and get them to change their vote to whoever you are voting for. This action can be used as many times as you want during the DP, or doesn't have to be used at all, but can only be used on one person at a time. You win with the Town.

Joebob - You are stress! One of the ultimate challenges of middle school, whether it's lots of assignments or challenges finding friends, stress can be one of the total levelers of middle schoolers. You can make them so stressed that they can't do anything right. Thus, you are a randomizer. Each NP you choose someone and their action will be redirected to somebody random. You win with the Mafia.

Whiteflame - You are Boredom. One of the ultimate challenges of middle school is surviving the ultimate boredom of some classes. You can visit one member of the town and put them to sleep with boredom. Thus, you are the Silencer. During the NP you choose someone, and during the next DP that person cannot post unless it is to VTL someone. You win with the Mafia.

This was pretty obvious from the start and pie fucked us over with the casey lynch followed by the owen lynch.

Also I am very shocked Austin made the right decision, perhaps I underestimated him

Yeah, you did have us locked down early. Honestly, I had no idea you were considering shooting Catholic, otherwise I just would have let you do it. Would’ve put us at MYLO DP2, and Owen’s claim would have at least made the final lynch an open question.

Also, as to whether the game was scum-sided, I’d say it was more just very swingy. Results depended  lot on how the Randomizer was used and who targets changed to, and I think this game showcased that.

I got killed for the very most minor of breadcrumbs, and that was mentioning that my role and character name went together. I knew mafia had a list, and didn’t think about how many people would out their characters.

Before that I did make a tactical choice of killing a fellow townie lightly, since it was inevitable, and it’d hurt my town cred to keep me safe (which as we saw, did not work out)

I did rightly choose whiteflame to investigate… There’s been games where I take full credit for properly identifying scum in R1, but this was not the case here. It was a cost/benefit analysis of who to clear and who would be worst for us as scum.

I don’t think whiteflame talked too much in the final round (as much as I only scummed the earlier ones). I probably would have silenced Austin, killed Wylted, and assumed Wyited of doing projection and gaslighting. The one problem would have proved to be the more it’s talked about, the more Catholic would vote against it.

I do understand why I was lynched though. I should have claimed first thing. I was just hoping I could help the town solve the game like it was almost solved in BotW. 

I would not have voted Owen for claiming vote thief. The way he said he'd role claim later, only to immediately change his mind and claim something scummy just came off as very towny to me.
