Yeah, that channel seems to be a good one from what little I’ve seen. It looks like he puts a lot of work into the videos. A lot of pilots have side gigs. Another really good channel for a comedic take is Captain Roger Victor. He uses puppets for a funny take on the trials and tribulations of pilot life. And now, cue the mockery for liking a puppet show…
they are usually calm even during wild situations.
This reminds me of another story— not about your exact observation per se, but anyway: I was sleeping at a hotel when the fire alarm goes off at 1am! Flashing lights in the room along with a LOUD recorded voice piped into everyone’s room! So, I reluctantly got up and walked out to a spot where I could see the situation unfold. I saw my flight attendant, and we just rolled our eyes at the bad timing of all this. After firemen gave the “all clear,” we went back to bed. A few hours later when it was time to get back to work, I saw my copilot (First Officer or FO) pouring a cup of coffee.
So, he asks me, “Good morning! How did you sleep last night?”
Ha! Well, I said, “Uh, good… except for the stupid false fire alarm at 1 in the morning!”
“There was a fire alarm?”
“You… didn’t hear it?!”
“No. I am a very heavy sleeper. Sometimes I worry I might die in my sleep from a fire.”
“Oh, my gosh. You need a fire alarm that dumps a bucket of water on you or something!”
“Funny you should say that because that’s how my dad had to wake me up once.”
