They believe abortion is 1st degree murder. But they also say, "leave it up to the states".
If you believe something is 1st degree murder and should be tried as such, then you would believe both of the following:
- There should be a nationwide abortion ban at conception.
- The penalty for killing a zygote should be the same as 1st degree murder (usually life imprisonment). They say, "We only want to go after the doctors who perform abortions", but then doctors won't perform abortions, meaning the woman who wants the abortion performs it on herself (making the penalty for women who self perform their own abortions life imprisonment).
Pro choicers are also cowards.
If you believe in, "my body, my choice" to justify legalized abortion, then this does extend to the moment of birth. It would mean you would want abortion to not just be safe and legal, but common. When something can arguably be as bad as murder, the more common it is, the harder it would be to be banned. There is an argument that meat eating is murder, but nobody tries to ban meat eating because it is extremely common. There is an argument that r@pe is as bad as murder, but nobody tries to legalize it because compared to eating hamburgers, r@pe is extremely rare.
If abortion was as rare as r@pe, then pretty much everyone would want women that get abortions to be tried as murderers; if it's as common as eating meat, then pretty much nobody would want to ban it (and just as how vegans often get made fun of for being vegan due to their rarity, a world where 97% of women get abortions on a regular basis would bust the balls of the, "personally pro life" crowd of women (who would have to appear to be pro choice at least publicly). If a vegan calls for banning meat eating enough times in public, they get shunned by society; so if a vegan wants to ban meat, then they usually keep it to themselves; if vegans made up 84% of the population, then many vegans would advocate for banning meat.
So the easiest way to keep abortion legal is to make it safe, legal, and common. Safe, legal, and rare is kindof a contradiction.
You don't need to subsidize abortions to keep them legal (if you want a hamburger, then you pay for it), although it helps because it increases the rate at which people get abortions.
