This is the root of pretty much everything wrong with society today. Men are the head of the household. That's it. The women, children, property, etc are all under HIS name.
One of the complaints that the women at Seneca falls had was that men got the custody of children more than women, and that's with women absolutely doing more of the child-rearing at the time. But that didn't matter-what did was that the man was in charge of the household.
However that is unthinkable today since women are now considered "in charge of the children" which is a return to the state most found in nature of mom and her brood and there is no father. In primitive tribes there is no conception of fatherhood. To them only mothers can have children. The lineage of kinship comes from the mother.

All of civilization rests on the idea that the male:
1)Can have children
2)That children are guaranteed to be HIS offspring
3)Is the head of the family and estate(women take the last name for a reason)
What is happening now is dubbed neo-primitivism. Communists and feminists are pretty clear that they hold a reverence for the primitive state of humanity since those were the times at which their systems were the de facto of humanity.
If you think of religion from a Darwinian sense, Christianity and Islam are the most prominent faiths today since they both recognize the male as the head of the household and they take a feverous stance against the "natural state" of man(the female brood)regarding it as sinful. These religions utterly obliterated any other faiths which held the female lineage for kinship(except judaism) because it's the most effective system.
This is an attack on the very idea of civilization-the one cornerstone that created everything you see today.
