America has a problem: We, as a country, are in a massive money hole. It’s one of many issues the nation is currently facing and attempting to figure out a solution forward. While many nations frequently struggle to maintain balance in a financial standing with lenders and other countries, the United States is facing a staggering number of $1,000,000 worth of debt per citizen. Let's get the top tax rate up to 90 percent like Eisenhower had to pay off the WWII debt.

When citizens have plenty, they act wasteful, which causes poverty.

When citizens are poor, they become better at saving money.

So yeah, I am aftaid its time to raise taxes.

The top 5% own or control 99% of all the money. Why shouldn't they be responsible ... Also many — if not most — high income people have inherited their wealth.
These are the people that should have the 90 percent tax rate.

Does spending a shitload on foreign wars, welfare and astro turfing faggot pride stuff usually help create more money or does that stuff cost money?

Countries usually fall into surplus trap.

When they have lots of money, in order to spend it, they introduce bunch of wasteful programs which increase in their cost over time.

Thus, surplus of budget disappears, however, it becomes impossible to abolish programs due to too many people depending on them. Thus, country goes in debt.

Same works when debt is small and politicians can easily introduce wasteful programs because they dont feel like it will increase debt by much.

Also, wasteful programs are actually quite popular among citizens, so once established, become very difficult to abolish.

I would advise against that as a solution and to either keep reserves or lower revenue

It's closer to $100K per American, but I'm splitting hairs.

Implement this tax plan to get us out of debt:

A 100% wealth tax on all billionaires above $1 billion is enough money to pay off about 10% of the debt.  It's not pragmatic.

The POD Plan is better.

It costs money.  Cutting spending on foreign wars and the LGBT pride parades should be done (not welfare because people need it to live and that is what our male majority government has done, so it can't be feminine).  But doing all of these won't raise enough money to pay off the debt.

The POD Plan is better.

No cutting welfare does not harm the poor. If you are actually libertarian you should know this as the Cato institute has funded several studies to find out if this is true or not

@Wylted

I don’t think it would be fair to call me consistently libetarian anymore.  I’ve gotten fired from a job and it’s very hard to find a new one; I might be going on welfare soon so it would be hypocritical of me to be against it when comparing it to starving to death.  I don’t WANT to be on it, but I’m getting hopeless and I don’t want to be hypocritical.  I’ve applied to maybe 45 places and nothing turned out to be decent enough work.  I got one job that actually said I got it, but they never gave me hours.  Another job only gives me like 2 hours a week.  I’m not in a good position and I can’t tell other people to “get a job” when I’m struggling.

On social issues; I’m LUSHOOTY.  I’m against our involvement with Ukraine and Israel, I am a free speech absolutist for all political ideas (even to the extent where you could insult my kids and I wouldn’t care).  I think AR 15s and constitutional carry should be legal nationwide.  I support the legalization of recreational cannabis nationwide.  I am against the believe women movement as I support facts and evidence being required to convict someone of rape (pro 5th amendment).  I am against the Patriot Act.  I support gradually legalizing all drugs for recreational use.  I’m against COVID vaccine mandates; I’ve been that way since the height of the pandemic.  I am very pro nuclear energy.

On economic issues, I’m fiscally aggressive.  I want everyone on welfare to get a government job expanding our roads where needed or similar.  Have those getting government money actually EARN it by raising taxes on the GLOBALISTS and using it to make lives better for AMERICAN PATRIOTS!

No cutting welfare does not harm the poor.
Ask the poor people getting welfare; they would know better than either of us.  If welfare harmed them in their eyes, then they would burn their welfare check.

I don’t want them on welfare but I want them getting paid by the government to do a useful government job funded by the globalists.

I side with we the people, not we the globalists.  This means the tax rate globalists pay should be higher to fund the government jobs that benefit the low income American Patriots in this country.

When you add the unfunded liabilities of Social Security, Medicare, what we owe to veterans and federal employees through pensions, and other unfunded liabilities, we face $120 trillion total in unfunded liabilities. On top of the $34 trillion we currently owe, which is approximately $155 trillion.

U.S. National Debt Clock : Real Time (usdebtclock.org) says the US total debt is about $100 trillion, so I don't know where you got that number from.

But total debt includes things like credit card debt (if you have a lot in credit card debt, then the taxpayer should not have to bail you out).

A good Christian donates 90% of their wealth because of their religious beliefs.

theocrat forces other people to donate 90% of their wealth because of their religious beliefs.

America has no place for theocratic ideology.

And you still vote democrat after realizing this is unethical because they tax to support gender reassignment surgery, art exhibits which show people shitting water colors out of their ass and calling it art and other things to tax us to promote their woke religion

I'm really open to voting for either party.  I judge by the issues they lean into.  Like, I voted republican for governor before because of his pro NRA stance.  I also would like it if the minimum wage was consistently adjusted for inflation.

I don't agree with spending tax dollars here, but it's not like it's a big part of the budget.  Like, if you earn $100K/year and your kid steals $5, you don't really care.  It would be different than if they stole $1000.  The left spends money on wars and RSG (Race, Sexual Orientation, Gender) stuff (a waste of money) and government jobs for American Patriots (like expanding our road infrastructure) and the right spends money on just war.

I can stomach the small amount of money spent on the RSG stuff if it means we have more government jobs expanding the roads in this country (jobs for American Patriots paid for by the globalists).

Another way to contextualize the growth in interest costs: right now, the Treasury pays about $2.4 billion per day, on average, for interest. And unless we change course, that will rise to $4.7 billion per day in 2034.

The only solution is to sell the USA to China.
