Polygamy should be legalized

If a man wants to marry multiple consenting women (or vice versa), then it should legalized in order to expand liberty in this country.

You can, but it won't be recognized by the government. If you want to make all marriages equal, the best way is probably to stop recognizing marriage as a government institution in the first place. If you want to be married to four people who are each married to four other people, but only on Tuesdays and Thursdays in February, then sure, you shouldn't be thrown in jail for that. But I'm not sure the government has an interest in keeping track of who you're married to on each day or designing insurance benefits for you.

Exactly. Polygamy or illegal migration. those are the only two policies.

That would be too complicated, but just one person of one gender and 5 people of the opposite gender that live a lifelong commitment; that shouldn't be too hard to sort out.

Whether or not Islam has a law has no causation with whether or not the west should accept the law.  Islam caps it at 4 wives; I think the limit should be unlimited if all parties consent.  Islam doesn't let women marry multiple men; I think women should be allowed to marry multiple men at the same time.

I'm libertarian on the issue; not Shriah.

So we're not allowing gay polyamorous relationships but we are allowing straight ones? Get ready for that political headache.

I've read sci fi books before, where aliens have different norms,

Like lion aliens where it's one male and many females,

The females go out as traders,

Seems common enough for humans to have jealousy and refuse to share,

Because of genetic love of one's 'own offspring more than others.

Firstly, I don't support polygamy. It just isn't the social norm and it shouldn't be.

Plus, how would you officially register it? Technicalities are why we can't have nice things and why I am not nice.

Some people want to get married for religious reasons.  Although I think if you are an atheist, then there is no point in you getting married by the church.  I would sign a customized marriage that indicates that me and my wife are sexually exclusive to each other unless she and I are fine with me being polygamous.  I would not be fine with her being polygamous because that is my preference; but if she imposes the same on me, then that's fine; but it's not guaranteed.
