My liked videos on YouTube are out of date. It says: "No videos No views Last updated on Dec 31, 1969"

I didn't think it had been that long. Especially since I would have been 3.

It's not the Twilight Zone (think cave, ocean, or Rod Sterling if you prefer); It isn't the Matrix but it is a glitch. A Unix epoch glitch from the past. Why?! Why 2 K? I've often asked myself.

@RaymondSheen
1970 is the unix epoch, this is either 0 or -1.0 or something in the database. A null signifier. A simple bug nothing to get excited about.

The "2K" bug was a hyped up crises caused by some silly people pointing out that other silly people recorded only the last two digits of the year in digital storage.

It was silly to get excited because no seriously designed system clock was designed in such an inane way and it was always silly to store "98" instead of "1998" given that using three bytes instead of one pretty much future proofs the variable and there was never a time in which three bytes was wasteful. If you needed to store large time data just define a new epoch for the entire set.

Being silly can be fun, but silly walks make me sore.
