Why do people hate Sarah Palin so much?

To me, she's a generic republican.

Why would someone hate Sarah Palin besides party affiliation?

Because she’s a phony, a dummy and a liar.

Do people need a reason, other than party affiliation, to dislike a politician of the opposing party?

I don't think it's anything that unique to her. She had a few scandals, but I doubt people care much about them. People who dislike Palin will dislike most people who share her positions. She endorsed Trump, so you have the never-Trumpers against her as well. Back when she was running for vice president, she was more hated than McCain, but nowadays most of the Trump camp is as extreme as her, if not more so.

How was she more extreme than McCain?  To me, they are both generic republcians.

Policy-wise, they weren't too different at the time, but Palin interviewed badly, making her seem like more of a loose cannon. Her interviews with Couric likely damaged her image a lot. In comparison, McCain was a war hero, something that both parties would see as a positive.

Remember her nickname was Caribou Barbie? She pretended to be a sportsman and a hunter. In reality she has very little expertise in hunting or shooting.

I saw this episode when it first came out. She is incompetent with firearms. She didn’t know how to get the safety off. Her father had to walk her through the operation of the bolt. She missed an easy shot several times. SHE’s A PHONY
