“According to information available to committee investigators, China made the largest total payments — $5.5 million — to Trump’s private businesses. The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), one of China’s biggest state-owned banks, was among Trump Tower’s largest office tenants during the Trump presidency. The report notes that during Trump’s first year in the White House, several Chinese banks — including ICBC — came under scrutiny for financial ties to North Korea, causing the administration to weigh sanctions against them”

China’s approval of one of Trump’s trademark applications became official—coincidentally only a few days after Trump reversed his previous position and endorsed the “one China” policy. This policy effectively recognizes the People’s Republic of China as the legitimate government of the mainland territory while allowing the U.S. government to have unofficial relations with Taiwan, governed by the Republic of China. In March 2017, China granted preliminary approval for 38 additional Trump trademarks, applications for which had been submitted in April 2016. While there are conflicting views about whether the process and timing of Trump’s recent trademark approvals are suspect, the reality of the matter is that in China, every administrative or judicial decision is a political one based on the government’s preferences and priorities; courts in China are not independent, but rather they report directly to the CPC. Also of note here is the fact that foreign companies have historically struggled to get equal treatment under Chinese law, so decisions in favor of a foreign company are striking. It is hard to avoid the appearance that China was giving Trump the trademarks in exchange for a direct shift in policy.
Trump was the most corrupt President in US history.

Trump can use that as a campaign ad, and the MAGA Morons will see it and send him money.

@Sidewalker
Usually, it's the USA sending money to other countries.
Last I checked, when Trump became POTUS, he resigned himself from all his businesses and signed them over to his kids to run.
So Trump didn't receive the money being asserted by these reports...the businesses ran by his kids did.

Trump refused to hand his businesses over to a blind trust, as other presidents had in the past, instead leaving the day-to-day business to his sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. So Trump profited from the foreign money.
