Did you know that today there are 500,000+ bison in the United States, and, in 2016, the American bison was named the national mammal of the United States?

FL, yes Im familiar with that info and private group that has or is working on million acres of private land for bison. They rasise money to buy out cattle ranchers for fair price or better and put bisons on that land. Some cattler ranchers are happy with these deals and take the money and start their new ranches elsewhere.

That is seperate for the justice for indians getting land returned to them some 100 or more years later in Montana specifically involving those tribes managing the bison.

Interesting that modern Americans nor  "First Nations" were named the national mammal.

Especially as the Bison probably got there the same way that everyone else did..
